Still FT-991 has a lack of TX power.
80m band is driving maxim 1.0 watt as QRP.......
40m band is 30 watt.
However from 40m to 10m getting around 500 watt helping by SPE Expert 1.3k-FA.
Unfortunately I can not QRV this season on 160m and 80m.
Before this FT-991 had same problem of lack power and repaired by Yaesu service, Moreover you can found same problem of FT-991 on Blogs. I don't recommend to use FT-991 on your important DX- pedition, losing pile up.
I not sure but maybe FT-991A would be improved it.
Recently We have good propagation with EU on 40m around my sunrise time 17:30 UTC.
However weekday I can not QRV after 18:00 UTC, 07:00 local time, leaving office.
So before 18:00 I will QRV every day as much as possible.
We are going to summer season in south pacific ocean, starting the season of DX. Winter season in Northern hemisphere.
In the morning time the signals from North America and Caribbean sea are reaching to South Pacific and improving on 20m,15m and 10m.
Around sunrise and sunset time the signal from Europe also improving on 40m.
I will setup an antenna for 80m soon. I'm not sure construct an antenna for 160m yet.
This weekend I' be on OC DX contest SSB and next week CW.
However in JA this weekend ACAG domestic contest is held by JARL which is one of the major contests for JA contestors.
I will finish QRV from Tonga the end of year 2017.
and I'll be on CQ WW PH/CW and JIDX on November.
A35W will QRV in CQ WW RTTY Contest, single TX.
before and after the contest, from Sep 20th starting active on 160m to 10m mainly RTTY and Digital mode as JT65 and FT8, will be finish Sep 26th.
Always We are checking RBN and DX cluster for checking propagation, however never response any request to QSY as band or mode, so please do not make any message on the cluster. The cluster is not message board.
We are using one TX choosing only one band depending on a propagation.
