CQ WW CW result

Finished my last contest from TONGA
I'm very happy for enjoying contest from South Pacific.
My aim for WW CW is getting over 2000 QSO like WWPH.
but the condition was little bit poor than WW PH,
because second day I could not accumulate QSO number like WW PH.
However I could operate all opportunity when 15m was open.

I will finish 40m QRV this weekend.

CQ WW Contest CW would be last Contest operation from TONGA for me. will be on 15m single.
Almost operation will be closed the end of November except 15m.
recently I'm on 40m CW around 1700UTC.

QRM on 40m

We have lot of QRM of illegal stations in Asia and pacific on 40m band.

This morning we had a QRM who was speaking Malaysia so it was difficult to copy EU stations.

I try again QRV on 40m tomorrow morning.

Possible to QRV from 40m to 10m

Still FT-991 has a lack of TX power.
80m band is driving maxim 1.0 watt as QRP.......
40m band is 30 watt.
However from 40m to 10m getting around 500 watt helping by SPE Expert 1.3k-FA.
Unfortunately I can not QRV this season on 160m and 80m.

Before this FT-991 had same problem of lack power and repaired by Yaesu service, Moreover you can found same problem of FT-991 on Blogs. I don't recommend to use FT-991 on your important DX- pedition, losing pile up. 
I not sure but maybe FT-991A would be improved it.

FT-991 does not work well with TX power down,
on 40m 30 watt, 20m 80 watt.
However fortunately SPE Expert 1.3-FA work with small driving power to gain rated power.

40m QRV

Recently We have good propagation with EU on 40m around my sunrise time 17:30 UTC.
However weekday I can not QRV after 18:00 UTC, 07:00 local time, leaving office.
So before 18:00 I will QRV every day as much as possible.

The season for DXer,s

We are going to summer season in south pacific ocean, starting the season of DX. Winter season in Northern hemisphere.

In the morning time the signals from North America and Caribbean sea are reaching to South Pacific and improving on 20m,15m and 10m.
Around sunrise and sunset time the signal from Europe also improving on 40m.
I will setup an antenna for 80m soon. I'm not sure construct an antenna for 160m yet.

This weekend I' be on OC DX contest SSB and next week CW.
However in JA this weekend ACAG domestic contest is held by JARL which is one of the major contests for JA contestors.

I will finish QRV from Tonga the end of year 2017.
and I'll be on CQ WW PH/CW and JIDX on November.

A35W QRV in CQ WW RTTY

A35W will QRV in CQ WW RTTY Contest, single TX.
before and after the contest, from Sep 20th starting active on 160m to 10m mainly RTTY and Digital mode as JT65 and FT8, will be finish Sep 26th.
Always We are checking RBN and DX cluster for checking propagation, however never response any request to QSY as band or mode, so please do not make any message on the cluster. The cluster is not message board.
We are using one TX choosing only one band depending on a propagation.
QSL via JJ2VLY and LoTW.

taking a summer vacation in JA

Next week I'm taking a summer vacation in JA visiting to Japan Ham fair held on September 2-4 by JARL which normally used to be on the last weekend of August.

I'm not sure but the Official saying, changed the date of the Ham fair due to a preparation for 2020 Tokyo Olympic Game at same place.

The day of Ham fair also All Asian DX Contest PH is held too by JARL.......Who will be on the air ????

However Don't worry, Japanese contesters are choosing to participant in AA contest.

Next contest for me, We will be on CQ World Wide RTTY Contest as A35W.

SARTG WW RTTY Contest

This weekend I, A31MM will participate in SARTG WW RTTY Contest on 20m using 100W TX and vertical dipole.

We have good propagation from 02UTC on 20m North America  and Asia, opening to Europe from 05UTC.

Other news, A35W will be active in digital mode from 18th September 2017 aslo will participate in CQ WW RTTY using HEX beam.

IOTA Contest report

Last weekend I was on IOTA Contest getting around 200 QSO including European stations on 20m band.
from Tonga on 15m band the propagation alwyas opened for JA but there were not many station looking for South Pacific.
On 20m band was well done however only from 17:00 to 20:00 local time for Asia , North America and few European.
Next I will on WAE contest CW.

FT-991 ALS-500M vertical dipole.

Comparing IC-7300 and FT-991.
I have an impression, the reception audio of FT-991 is better as quiet than 7300, however 7300 is not terrible audio, and the function of 7300 is better than 991.

Report of IARU Chanpionship

Thanks for QSO in IARU contest.

The conditions on high bands were not so good.

Before the contest I made a timetable of operate usin a prediction tool of propagation as known VOACAP.

We have propagation on 10m band for NA and Asia but nobody were on, I made only one NA station.

However I could enjoy this contest.

This weekend I will be on WPX CW from 40m-10m with 100W, but the condition is being worst, is it sure?
Few days I was making CQ with 100W but the RBN didn't catch me. Now I'm using 300 W but it same.......
Maybe I will start on 20m or 15m at 13:00 Tongan local time as 00:00 UTC.

listening and CQing on 160m and 80m at sunset and sunrise in Tonga during April. But I didn't noting QSO or hearing any DX station, few JA,s.

Today I removed the antenna for 160m and 80m.

I'm sure, will build it on September again.

I occasionally make a CQ on 80m and 160m
but recently RBN dose not catch me.
also I'm monitoring the bands around sunset and sunrise

This morning I was on 1823.5KHz around 1700UTC CQing,
but I heard nothing.

There is intermittent QRN as usual.
this morning around 1700-1745 some weak signal were calling me at QRN perfectly I can not copy thme
but also in a space of QRN, I can not copy them at an instant moment without QRN. Very weak signal and QSB.

As you know I transmit only 300W into full size Inverted L antenna.
How much power are they using? and Why I can not copy them?
Maybe I necesarry use a hearing aid.

This weekend I concentrate on WPX SSB contest specially on 15m.
The contest is one of my favorite field of Ham radio.

about 160m

recently I QRV on 160m every morning.
It was not so difficult to QSO with zone16 but very difficult to other European.
A lot of EU station informed to me
"I made QSO VP6, E5, etc in South Pacific DX Pedition stations."
Please do not compare with them,
because they are using special antenna for 160m and using receiving antennas closed to beach and more power.
I'm using very simple full size Inverted L in limited space of garden with small amp.
please try patiently, also I am listing carefully you.

Today restarting QRV on 80m, but There is intermittent QRN.
I can copy a weak signal if you call me at just pausing QRN, one or two seconds.
Maybe the 80m,s antenna will be changed for 160m in few days.

My QSL manager informed me about 160m QSO as NP3J
but I'm in TONGA as A31MM.
Maybe it was NP2J on February and March.
Please listen carefully with your ears,
DX cluster information are not sure perfect.

ARRL International DX Contest PH

Last weekend I was on ARRL PH.
I was QRV on all bands from 80m to 10m but except the 15m were difficult to get QSO.
however I could many QSO on 15m bands around 750 QSO,s using IC-7300, ALS-500M running about 250W into 2ele HB6CV only 6 meter high.
I think between A3, south pacific, and W ,northern hemisphere,  we have good pass via equator so we can QSO at a lower SSN.

on 10m also we have pass but unfortunately I don't have a beam antenna for 10m.

Now the 20m band is for DX main band but in my QTH not was good.

The all contacts already are on LoTW, eQSL and Clublog

80m this morning

Today I have QRN on 80m and difficult to catch weak signals, however little by little I was making QSO with EU,s
but OT4A sending same massage again on DX cluster,
DX cluster is not massage board, don't you know?
Please do not call me if you think I do not have ears for EU.
but always I'm listening careful for weak signal with QRN.
I'll not QRV on 160m and 80m if he is right.

80m yesterday

Yesterday morning in Tonga, I made around 50 Ukraine stations on 80m. But the condition was not so good. little JA, NA and EU.
This morning I was not on the air. This week I'm going to modify an anntenna from 80m band to 75m band for ARRL PH contest. A31MM

80m Today

After modify and adjusting the antenna for 80m, It was great for me. Making about 300 QSO, mostly JA,NA and EU. I research the QSO,s on 80m of last year, it's coincidence around 26 Feb 2016 used many QSO on 80m. this evening 'll be again on 80m. Please call me SPLIT, but recommend Not just 1.0KHz.

80m today

Today we didn't have QRN on 80m, so it was comfortable to operate. Luckily I made several QSO,s with EU.
but we had a problem, while I was calling F4 station, DF station didn't stop call me. Why? I lost one QSO with F4 station.

This morning I had little QRN so could make QSO,s EU,s.
but a HA8 and YB2 station were only repeat calling and noting listen me. I don't understand why call me? Please not call if you can not listen well with QRM. It is better to wait or listen more carefully. Your signal was always 559.........

Today I was on 80m for EU, it was good condition and thanks for calling me, but several stations were continuity calling and not stop call until reply them, but they didn't reply if I response to them. only continuity calling. It is better I'll QRV only in the contest.

ARRL CW Contest

Last weekend I was on ARRL CW Contest, I could enjoy the contest with 1100 QSO,s from 80m to 10m, using 18m long wire vertical into ICOM AH-2 for all bands and 2ele HB9CV for 15m band and IC-7300 100W.
I had good feeling the 18m vertical for 80m band. This week I'll adjust correct it to 80m without AH-2 to use amplifier.

I don't have idea when I'll change the antenna for 160m, but it is possible after 80m QRV.

Today I strat QRV again on 80m with full size vertical.
I have good felling to EU, but this week I QRV without amplifier.
because I use this antenna for multi bands with ICOM AH-2 for ARRL CW low power all bands category thie weekend .

18m fiberglass pole for low band antenna

Yesterday I set up 18m fiberglass rod for low band.
will be QRV including 80m in ARRL CW, but sorry not 160m.
I don't use an amplifier in this contest , only low power as 100W.
and If the weather will be changed with gale, remove it.

WPX RTTY

Last weekend I was on WPX RTTY Low power All bands.
I could clear the top score of last year which I made it.
Most of 500 QSOs are JA,s and W,s.
It was difficult to get EU in this season or my poor system.

This weekend will be on ARRL CW Low power all bands,
I'm not sure but QRV except 160m and 80m depending on the weather.
because still we are cyclone season. Rain and gale........

because Tonga is one of difficult entity to QSO from Europa as you know, for example on 30m tonight Europeans were calling me and thanks for QSO, but some stations were worked before several time. Finally any station will be missed a chance to QSO with Tonga.

Last night 80m and 30m

Last night I was on 80m between 0600z-0900z, the condition was not so good, I cloud not many QSO and the waterfall in IC-7300 was showing few signal so I was QRV on 30m at times, it was not so good not so bud for EU.

However, this morning around 1700z, 0500 local time, the waterfall is showing many signals specially zone 16 on 80m, and I made CQ and QSO few EU stations.
maybe the condition is growing up again??

I fell the condition is changed in down, not as few days when I caught EU,s.
But we are in weekend I'll try again QRV on 80m and 30m for EU.

Someone said on the DX cluster that I don't have ear for EU, but is it sure? I think that you, who keep listening me, know that I concentrate to listen for EU with own small ears, and I don't use webSDR in another QTH for DXing, jajaja.

Tonight I was on 80m from 07:00z making CQ
the condition was bad, I caught some CW weak signal
it was difficult to copy, only got two OH station.

Today will be on 80m CW around 07:00z
RX up1 but please call me not just 1.0KHz.

Last night I was QRV on 80m around 07:00z.
the condition for EU was little good for me because I made QSO with some small number of G, F, DL, PE and SP.

This morning again QRV around 16:00z before my sun rise, I'm not sure, but the condition was not good only caught HA9RE and ZL,s.

I'm using 400W out and full size inverted L antenna which is very low only 10 meters high.

I Know that my system is not so good for long distance of DX, and  my good friends give me advice to modify the antenna system, but it is my limit.

And please don't use web SDR system for RX, it is noting interested in DXing, please use your RX and antenna.
I will use web SDR to catch your signal if you like to use web SDR to catch my weak signal.
